Land Acknowledement

The AML acknowledges that the University of Guelph, and therefore the lab, resides on Treaty 3 land. This land belongs to the Mississaugas of the Credit. We acknowledge the history of the land as an act of reconciliation and to show respect to our Indigenous peers. The Anishinaabe and Haundenosaunee communities have a longstanding and on-going relationship with the land. The lab understands that the only reason we can work on this land is due to colonization and the displacement of Indigenous peoples.

The AML recognizes that only 0.73% of engineers identify as Indigenous in Canada (https://engineerscanada.ca/indigenous-engineering-in-canada#-executive-summary). We recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous voices and uplifting Indigenous engineers when completing projects.
